2.4. Encouraging collaboration and inclusion

Many STEM games are team-based, which fosters an inclusive atmosphere where students of all genders can work together toward a shared goal. By promoting teamwork, games create a supportive learning environment where students learn to value each other's contributions. This helps reduce any gender-based competition and encourages students to view STEM as a collaborative and inclusive field. Games like "Kerbal Space Program," where students collaboratively design and launch virtual space missions, or "Rube Goldberg machine challenges," where students build complex machines from simple components, help foster a cooperative atmosphere. These games require team-based problem-solving and communication, skills that are critical in real STEM careers.
