Free training for free thinking

The project will result in the development of a mini-training programmes available on this website for STEM teachers, including information, awareness-raising tools and ready-to-use activities. This will strengthen the role of teachers and schools as stakeholders in guiding students, particularly girls, towards STEM studies at secondary level and beyond.

Gender awareness

We hope that this project will lead teachers but also other education professionals to take an interest in gender issues in our societies through.

Main activities

Building a framework

The creation of an EU framework for equality in STEM at school, aiming to establish a solid scientific basis for the development of pedagogical tools. Two main publications are already available:

  •  Equality Pedagogy in STEM: An EU Framework
Among other things, this offer a deep dive in data and analytics about the fundamental elements for the explanation of the persisting gender inquealities and gaps in STEM fields and STEM education. Recommanded for analysts, researchers or teachers that want to see the detailed analysis that lead us to our recommandations presented in the "Guide for including gender in STEM schools and education". Authors believe it contributes not only for the STEMGenderIN activities, and for schools’ and teachers’ guidance and training, but also as a reference document for other European initiatives and stakeholders (academia, trainers, NGO and public authorities) in this area.

See it online or download it.

  •  A guide for including a gender perspective in STEM schools and education
Offers a comprehensive framework designed to integrate gender equality into STEM education.  Key strategies, among other things include creating gender-sensitive action plans, eliminating stereotypes, using inclusive language, and incorporating the contributions of women in STEM. Additionally, the guide emphasizes a whole-school approach to foster a culture of gender equality, supported by continuous professional development for educators. With resources and tools tailored for various educational stakeholders, this guide aims to create an inclusive environment that encourages the participation and success of all students in STEM disciplines.
